Mission Statement:

AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

WHAT IS AVID?

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a research-based, in-school academic support system that is designed to prepare students for college and career readiness. In particular, our students are prepared for admission to four-year universities and colleges through the use of WICOR strategies. The AVID elective class targets the least served students in the academic middle, capable of succeeding in a rigorous, college preparatory path.

AVID Schoolwide

Stover Middle School is AVID Schoolwide. This means that all teachers, across all contents, are trained on researched AVID strategies to teach their classes. All Stover Middle School students are expected to be organized scholars; thereby, increasing their chances for success.
